Whats interesting about this too is that (I think; not a gymnastics expert) it means that men and women gymnasts end up with very different body types, probably due to the events they do.
Yeah, I was thinking about this, and how for example if the elite men had to do balance beam, they’d probably be shorter. It’s interesting how the gendered event selections (justified by “~physical differences~!”) can actually be responsible for creating some of those physical differences at elite levels.
