I mean people DIE when they don’t share your sexual orientation. But you’re mad because some kids on the internet want to see a gay character in a disney movie? THAT’S “shoving it down our throats”?

God I legit cannot get over how sheltered and entitled straight people can be. It blows me away sometimes. Specifically every time a straight person starts whining about how queer folks are trying to “force” their/our sexualities onto people. No, str8ies, that’s your job, we wouldn’t want to take that away from you.

I think you mean ‘heteronormative.’ There are many many straight allies to us LGBT folk, and I know several ‘str8ies’ who would cheer if they saw an openly gay character in a Disney movie. In contrast, such excuses as ‘shoving it down their throats’ is a pretty typical heteronormative dodge.

I beg of you not to make blanket statements about straight people. That’s just as not-okay as when they make blanket statements about us, because it facilitates an ugly cycle.
